Terms of Service

These Terms of Service apply when you use Nuvio websites, apps, Nuvio Sync, account features, documented public APIs, community pages, and related services. You agree to these Terms when you use Nuvio, create an account, or submit community content.

You must be old enough to use online services in your country. Otherwise, you need permission from a parent or legal guardian. If you use Nuvio for an organization, you confirm that you have permission to accept these Terms on its behalf.

In these Terms, "Nuvio" means the Nuvio apps, websites, account sync, public documentation, public APIs, and related services that Nuvio operates. A "User" is anyone who accesses or uses Nuvio, whether or not they are signed in.

"Addons" are integrations, manifests, lists, endpoints, or services that users can connect to Nuvio. They may provide catalogs, metadata, subtitles, playback information, timestamps, or other functionality. An addon is independent unless Nuvio identifies it as an official service.

"Content information" includes metadata, catalog entries, posters, descriptions, ratings, progress, library records, collection entries, subtitles, timestamps, and similar information about media. It does not include the movie, episode, live channel, subtitle file, or other media file itself.

Nuvio is an open-source media center and library application for browsing, organizing, syncing, and playing media from sources you are authorized to access. Nuvio provides the application and related account services. It does not host third-party media or sell access to third-party media services.

Nuvio may include app interfaces, account sync, profiles, watch progress, library tools, community collections, cover pages, metadata views, support pages, and public documentation. Some features depend on third-party services or addons you choose to connect.

Full and store builds both support addons, but other features may differ. Full builds may include in-app updates, downloads, or trailer playback within the app. Builds distributed through the App Store, Play Store, or another store may limit or disable those other features. A disabled feature is not part of that store build.

A Nuvio account may store and sync settings, profiles, profile locks, collections, library entries, watch progress, watched history, and related preferences. Keep your account credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.

The account information you provide must be accurate and reasonably current. Do not access someone else's account without permission, share credentials in a way that puts an account at risk, or try to bypass profile locks or other access controls. Contact Nuvio promptly if you think your account has been compromised.

Nuvio Sync is a convenience feature, not a guaranteed backup service. Keep separate copies or exports of information that matters to you. Nuvio does not have to keep or restore account or sync data that is deleted, expired, corrupted, incompatible, or unavailable.

You may delete your account from the account dashboard when that option is available. Deletion is intended to remove Nuvio Sync data linked to your account. Copies may remain for a limited time in backups, logs, security records, or records Nuvio must keep.

We may suspend, restrict, or delete an account if it appears to violate these Terms, creates a security risk, abuses the service, or exposes Nuvio or other users to legal, operational, or platform risk.

Nuvio can connect to independent services and user-configured addons for metadata, subtitles, watch history, catalogs, timestamps, trailers, cloud libraries, and other media features. Some builds support addons through compatible public protocols. Unless Nuvio identifies a service or addon as official, its provider operates it independently.

You are responsible for choosing services and addons you trust, reviewing their permissions and privacy practices, following their terms, keeping your credentials secure, and using only resources you are authorized to access. Compatibility with Nuvio does not mean that Nuvio endorses an integration.

Nuvio may restrict an integration, listing, feature, or account when it reasonably believes that it violates these Terms, applicable law, or another person's rights.

If you develop, publish, list, or maintain a community addon, manifest, or endpoint for Nuvio, you are responsible for the service and the material it returns or makes available. You must own or have the necessary rights, licenses, permissions, and consents for that material.

Nuvio does not host, develop, maintain, or control independent addons and cannot review everything they return in advance. If Nuvio learns of a credible legal, safety, or security concern, it may investigate and restrict the relevant addon, listing, feature, or account.

Use Nuvio only in compliance with applicable law and the terms of any third-party services you connect. You are responsible for having the necessary rights to the media, services, accounts, and sources you use.

Do not use Nuvio for copyright infringement or other unlawful activity, or to access media, services, or accounts without authorization. Do not obtain or share credentials without authorization, bypass rights or access controls, or distribute material without the required rights.

Do not attack, scrape, overload, reverse engineer, bypass authentication or rate limits, or interfere with Nuvio or another service. You may automate only the APIs documented for public use.

Community features may let users submit, publish, import, export, report, appeal, or share covers, collections, descriptions, screenshots, and metadata references. You are responsible for anything you submit or share through these features.

Do not submit content that is infringing, unlawful, sexually exploitative, abusive, harassing, hateful, violent, misleading, invasive of privacy, or spam. Do not submit malware or use community features to obtain credentials without permission or direct people to material they are not authorized to access.

When you submit community content, you grant Nuvio a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, cache, display, reproduce, modify for formatting, distribute, and make that content available as needed to operate, moderate, secure, and improve Nuvio. You keep any rights you already hold in your content.

We may review, reject, hide, remove, reorder, restrict, or delete community content at any time. This includes content that appears to violate these Terms, platform rules, the law, or someone else's rights or safety. We do not have to publish, keep, restore, or explain every moderation decision.

Nuvio respects intellectual property rights. If you believe a public Nuvio page, community cover or collection, screenshot, document, or other material hosted by Nuvio infringes your rights, send us enough detail to review it.

Include the affected URL, a description of the work or right involved, your contact details, the action you want us to take, and a good-faith statement that you are the rights holder or have permission to act for them. Send rights reports to hello@nuvio.tv.

We can review, remove, or restrict material that Nuvio hosts or publishes. For material controlled by an independent provider, contact that provider directly. We may restrict repeat infringers or accounts that repeatedly submit material that violates someone's rights.

Nuvio software may be available under open-source licenses, including GNU GPLv3 when the applicable source license says so. Those licenses determine your rights to copy, modify, and distribute the code they cover.

These Terms do not give you ownership of the Nuvio name, logos, website design, documentation, hosted services, account system, databases, trademarks, or other project materials that an open-source license does not cover. Third-party names, services, libraries, metadata, and media remain the property of their respective owners.

The Privacy Policy explains how Nuvio collects and handles account, sync, device, community, and website data. When you use Nuvio, you acknowledge that Nuvio handles data as described in that policy.

Nuvio changes over time. Its features, APIs, builds, app store availability, account sync, documentation, Supporter options, and support channels may change, stop working, pause, or end at any time.

You are responsible for the compatible devices, software, internet access, data charges, and third-party accounts required by the features you choose. Nuvio is not responsible for failures caused by your equipment or network, third-party services, app stores, operating system restrictions, provider outages, or other events outside Nuvio's reasonable control.

You may stop using Nuvio and delete your account at any time. Nuvio may suspend or end your access as these Terms describe. Provisions that should continue by their nature will survive termination. These include ownership, licenses, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnity, and general terms.

We may update these Terms when the service changes or when legal, platform, security, or operational needs require an update. The date on this page shows when the current Terms were last changed. If you keep using Nuvio after an update, you accept the updated Terms.

Nuvio is provided "as is" and "as available" without any express, implied, statutory, or other warranty. We do not promise that Nuvio will be uninterrupted, secure, free of errors, compatible with every device, accepted by every platform, or available in every region.

We do not guarantee the accuracy, legality, safety, quality, availability, or completeness of third-party content, data, services, integrations, or community submissions.

To the fullest extent the law allows, Nuvio and its contributors, maintainers, operators, and licensors are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages. They also are not liable for lost profits, lost data, lost content, account loss, service interruption, device issues, or third-party claims arising from your use of Nuvio.

Nuvio is not liable for delays or failures caused by events outside its reasonable control. These may include internet or infrastructure failures, acts of third-party providers or platforms, natural events, government action, labor disruption, malicious attacks, and unauthorized interference with systems.

When the law does not allow liability to be excluded, Nuvio's liability is limited to the fullest extent that applicable law permits.

To the extent the law allows, you agree to defend and indemnify Nuvio and its contributors, maintainers, operators, and licensors against claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from your use of Nuvio, your community content, or your account activity, or from your violation of these Terms, the law, or third-party rights.

If a provision of these Terms is found invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. The affected provision will be enforced as far as the law permits.

Failing to enforce a provision does not waive it. Headings are included only for convenience. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, applicable open-source licenses, and any feature-specific notices Nuvio presents make up the agreement for the relevant service. An open-source license controls when it grants rights in source code that it covers.
